First day on the loop

Lake Erie was bright calm and beautiful today as we left Port Clinton at 8:30 am. As Judy would say it was a "goanywhere day". Our grandchildren Connor and Allison were on board as we left port and we were given a great big wave goodbye at the mouth of the river by fellow loopers Bill and Karen Hasselbach of Candy Dish who have just completed their second loop. Our trip on Lake Erie to the Detroit River was uneventful and it was an exciting time for the grandchildren as they viewed the sights on the Detroit River, the freighters and the City of Detroit itself. Our final destination today was Metropark which is at the north end of Lake St. Clair. We anchored in a small lake which is just stunning. Surrounded by expensive homes. Pork chops on the Jenn Air on the flybridge, watching the sunset and the boats finished off a perfect day

It was such a treat to come to "work" and read your first blog about your trip. I hope Conner and Allison are keeping a journal. Your description of the days adventure made me feel as if we were right there with you. When are you coming for us in Alton? :) Sister/Aunt Deb

Great fun to follow your blog. Always wanted to set one up but never did on our trips. I will send pix of you at PC just as soon as I take them off the camera. We met Looper, Endeavor, on the Erie Canal at Tonawanda, on the 4th of July. Karen & Bill, M/V Candy Dish
