December 2 Ingram Bayou to Pensacola--Not too far to travel today, so it was a 9am departure--First of the month always brings on a little more
on board office work from the store, so I had a chance to work at that before our 9 am departure. Again the landscape is changing along our route. More white
sand beaches and more expensive homes but also still lots of wilderness. Judy spotted some dolphins but only their fins so I am still awaiting my first sighting. After traveling about 3hrs we came to the Pensacola pass, that is where
there is an opening from the
GIWW to the Gulf of Mexico. At this point we veered of off the
GIWW for the 6 mile trip to the city of Pensacola. A short while back we passed back into the Eastern Time Zone so we are right once again with Indiana time. Most of the Marinas in
Pensacola were destroyed by Ivan in 2004 but they are back better than ever now with floating docks.
Palafox marina will be our home for the next couple of days. It is right downtown and an easy walk to many
restaurants and Pensacola's historic district. Judy and I walked to the Fish House restaurant and sat outside. We thought about all of our northern folks suffering
through the first storm of winter. A great meal of Grouper and grilled shrimp. The day was partly cloudy and about 75 degrees. This evening is still warm and still. Since returning from the restaurant it has rained briefly a couple of times. Tomorrow is supposed to be very windy and cooler so we decided to stay put. We are conversing with my brother
Mike. He would like to join us for the crossing of the Gulf to Tarpon Springs Fl. More on that later. The picture above is the "land cut" showing the white sand beaches just before Pensacola pass
.

You don't get to Eastern time zone until after Panama City.-Right near White City-nice free dock-no power.
Happy Holidays!
