Naples City Marina is a very active Marina people wise. There are several restaurants nearby that overlook the water. After people eat they walk the docks and look at the boats. There also are lots of charter fishing boats that fish out of here. The pelicans live off whats left after the the Captains clean the fish. I have been nosing around for a new dinghy motor to replace my 2.5 hp motor. It so happens that their is a inflatable boat (dinghy) and motor dealer right near the docks. I traded my Yamaha for a 6hp Nissan motor. It still only weighs 55 lbs(vs 37) so I can get it on and off the dinghy without too much of a problem. The weather today, Saturday, is great, very warm. I took a walk to downtown Naples, which is only about 12 blocks. Tons of restaurants and upscale shops. Our boat is docked right on the landing path to the Naples airport. All day long the corporate jets carrying the well to do glide to a landing right over our boat. Larry & Linda Ross, our friends, from Ft. Wayne & Port Clinton, came to the boat for cocktails before we set off to Tommy Bahama's to have dinner. Nice open air feeling and outside seating. It wasn't long after we returned to the boat, the wind picked up, the rain came and then the temperature dropped. Sunday was very windy and a little cooler, so not much got accomplished except a little computer work in preparation for the taxman. Linda came to the boat and took Judy to the grocery store. Of course they had lunch and went other places shopping so they were gone most of the afternoon. Monday the wind was still blowing, so that's when I made the deal on the new motor. Too windy to mount it on the dinghy and try it out so I just made sure it ran. The picture is of one of the magnificent homes that line the Gordon River on the way to Naples. The other picture is of Larry & Linda
