June 18-Herrington Harbor North Traceys Landing Chesapeake Bay

No fancy glasses for the champagne toast- but the memories we hope will continue for a long time. Last April, Judy and I picked up Silver Foxes in Oxford Md which is on the Eastern shore of the Chesepeake Bay. Our first stop, with our new to us boat, as we journeyed home to Port Clinton on Lake Erie with our friends Judy & Max Pasko onboard was Herrington Harbor. Excitedly we left the dock this morning at Solomon's and at 12:41 pm we crossed that faint wake that was still lingering in our minds from our presence in this same spot approximately 13 months ago. Silver Foxes has closed the "Loop". Including the trip home last year, we have travelled 6852 statute miles. Stayed in many marinas and anchored out many times. The highlights are many. We have met some fantastic people in our travels. Have made many new friends, and traveled with and visited many friends in various ports of calls along the way.
Right now, this is as far north as we plan to travel on the Chesapeake. For the next week we will "gunkhole"(visit various places and anchor out) on the Chesepeake. Then we will have our boat pulled in Deltaville Va, have its bottom painted, along with some other minor work. On the 27th we will fly home from Richmond VA, enjoy the summer with our family, and then in October head for the boat again and probably head south. So you see our plans keep changing and will probably continue to change. The blog will continue until we get to Deltaville. At some point in time, if Silver Foxes makes its way back to Port Clinton, I will chronicle the journey from Herrington Harbor to Port Clinton but until that time it will remain a portion of the trip that has been enjoyed but not documented. In a later post I will leave you with some statistics of the trip. Pictured above are our good friends John & Gail, and Judy celebrating with us our loop closure
