A day to prowl around Bimini. Bimini is a very small speck of an island quite far removed from any other of the Bahamian islands. It has lots of little locally owned shops that sell things to the locals as well as the boaters. One of our goals today was to purchase a cell phone we could use throughout the Bahamas. We purchased a relatively cheap cell phone ($80) along with a $20 with of cell time. To recharge the phone you go to most any store where they have a vending machine to purchase a card where you scratch off the numbers and enter it into the phone!

The Main street in Bimini |
I was also in need of a haircut Several inquiries led us up a hill to a little cement block building. No one there. But shortly the barber man arrived on his golf cart. We suspect word had spread that I was looking for him.

After walking the main street in town and the high street which over looks the Ocean, a pleasant dinner was enjoyed at the Big Game Club. Fresh Mahi Mahi.

The few cars that are on the streets speed along but the goats manage to survive. |
