Normans Cay is famous for the escapades of the Columbian drug runner Carlos Leder of the 1970's era. This was in the days when the Bahamian Government allegedly would turn a blind eye towards such activiities. Several attempts to capture Leder by the US Feds were thwarted by insider information from someone within the Bahamian government. There isn't much development on Norman's, but there is a small restaurant called Norman's Beach Club. A call on the VHF radio secured our dinner reservation at 6:30pm. A short dinghy ride brought us to a path that led to the restaurant. No dinghy dock here-just land the dinghy on the beach and set the anchor in the sand so the tide doesn't carry the dinghy away.

After visiting Rita and Robert in Staniel Cay we took advantage of the internet and enjoyed a Kalik at The Yacht Club Restaurant |
Mitch and barb went dinghy exploring and found the wreckage of one of Leder's overloaded drug laden airplanes. It was in shallow water and they were able to snorkel over it.
