April 10 Angel Fish creek to Alice Town Bimini Bahamas

It is time to make the move back to Pumpkin Key to position ourselves to make the crossing to Bimini in the Bahamas.  We leave Anchorage Resort about 2pm just as the weekend party starts to rev up at Gilberts Bar across the way.  Gilberts is a happening place.  It is a nice boat ride from Miami so lots of boats come for the day and or overnight.
View of Gilberts from our Boat.  We could listen to live music every afternoon and evening.  Some good and some bad!
Mitch says returning to Pumpkin Key is like "returning to the crime scene" but in contrast to our recent escapade there, we have a very peaceful anchorage.  Pumpkin Key is a stones throw away from the entrance to Angelfish Creek which winds its way from the the Florida Bay side of the Keys to the Atlantic Ocean side.  It is a narrow waterway with lots of red and green markers to help us wend our way through the Creek. It is shallow at the entrance and exit of the Creek (6.5') but our transit through the Creek was uneventful.
Lands End II pulling anchor at sunrise and heading towards Angelfish Creek

The Atlantic Ocean greeted us with some 3' swells as we departed the shallow reef which lies just offshore.  However after about an hour's travel the seas settled down to less than 1' and we let the Gulf Stream give us a couple of mph push towards Bimini.  We arrived in Bimini about 2:45 pm at Bimini Big Game Club Marina.  After filling out a mile of paperwork we cleared customs and settled in to watch the Master's Golf tournament finish which proved to be exciting even for the non golfer that I am.  Later a great meal at the restaurant at the Marina
A freighter on a collision course.  I slowed to let him pass in front of me.
