The wind was blowing briskly from the south as we pulled our anchor at Great Sale Cay. Before pulling anchor though we had John & Gail & Mike & Janice over from Our Time for breakfast. Our Time does not have a generator on his boat so Judy fixed coffee and toast for the six of us. That homemade Bahamian bread sure tasted great! So off we went to our next anchorage approximately 50 sm away. The great part about this part of the islands is that there are numerous little islands you can tuck in behind to get away from the wind if necessary. We are now in the Sea of Abaco which is north of Grand Abaco Island and protected by a large barrier reef to the north. Click here to see a map of the area. Note Coopers Town is near the top of the map. We arrived at Coopers Town and the wind was blowing out of the southeast so we anchored right in front of the town, after unsuccessfully trying to put the anchor down west of the town in a little indentation in the coastline. This time the anchor set immediately and it wasn't long until Our Time settled in beside us. A delightful evening at anchorage overlooking this small town. I briefly got the internet by scarfing fron somebody on shore. Winds tomorrow will be from the south -southwest so we should be good to go in the morning/ The picture above is one of the many small islands we passed.
