First order of the business was to have breakfast again on our boat before pulling anchor and heading out on the last leg of our journey to Marsh Harbour, which will be our home base the next 2 months. Everyone was excited and anxious to get there so breakfast took place at 6:45 am. The wind was blowing slighty out of the south so a pleasant journey is expected for the 40 or so miles we will travel today. Our journey will take us through a channel that is wide and fairly deep (15-22) but it is marked by poles which is unusual. If you look closely you can see where at one time there may have been a little red or green paint on them. We arrived shortly after lunch at Boat Harbour marina. Boat Harbour is not actually in the harbour at Marsh Harbour but is on the east side of town and entered from the Sea of Abaco after you go around Point Set Rock & Matt Lowes Cay. Lots of other loopers here. Some we have travelled with and some we have met for the first time. It took us a while to get settled in. There was some confusion when we checked in as to the rate we would be charged for dockage, which was not what we were told when we made the reservations last October. Seems they are in negotiations with the Royal Marsh Harbour Yacht Club, which we are members of and through which we obtained the favorable dockage rates. All should be resolved by Friday they said-so we will see. A late afternoon hamburger at the Tiki bar tasted very good and a dock 4 cocktail party was then in order. Facilities are very nice here. Docks are not floating and there is about about a 3' tide so getting off the boat is a little bit of a challenge. We have sterned in and that works well for us but other boats are bowed into the dock to make getting off and on the boat easier.
