The smile on my face is because the diver I hired from the local dive shop here in the resort just went below and cut off the crab trap line that was wrapped around the prop shaft and around the propeller on our port running gear. The line that he cut off is on the dock. Quite a mess. I think I probably picked this up in the crab pot mines around Marathon in the Florida keys. There is a very sharp serrated cutting disc mounted on the prop shaft behind each propeller. I assume as I unknowingly ran over the line it wound around the shaft and the cutting disc did its job. No vibration noted except on several occasions as I docked and put the port engine in reverse I noticed a lack of response. Judy & Gail went to the grocery today (Wednesday). Their daughter & grandchildren arriving today. Lots of guests arriving and departing daily on the boats. Our neighbors next door just had six people arrive--talk about a boat load of people! A cold front will go through today. High of 75 this morning and the temp will drop and it has rained off and on all day. Between the rain, the lazarette (hatch opening & storage) in the cockpit(open area in the back of the boat) was removed of all contents and washed down. It was my intention to put it away but the rain kept coming so our cockpit is in total disarray and it looks like a Kentucky front porch. Maybe tomorrow the sun will dry things out and items will be put away and be nice and dry and organized.
