March 8-10 Marsh Harbour

Sunday morning the bus (school bus) picked us up at the entrance to the harbor so we could attend the 9am mass at St France DeSales Catholic Church. We got to see parts of Marsh Harbour that we had not seen before. By the time we got to church the bus was full. It was first communion Sunday and there were seven first communicants. The church was pretty new. No pews or kneelers, just white plastic lawn chairs. A very interesting visiting priest from the states said mass and gave a sermon that kept every ones attention. Mass here is a little longer than normal as it takes about 10 minutes for everyone to shake hands, hug and visit during the sign of peace. I would say the crowd was 50-50 mix of local Bahamians and visitors like us. Two collections also took a little extra time. After Mass refreshments were served and they delivered us back to the boat about 11 am. Another delightful day. On Monday I installed an electrical outlet on the flybridge, as there was not a place to plug anything in up there. Also went to town a couple of times. First time they did not have Raisin bread but they said it would be coming out of the oven between 3 & 4pm. So back to town I went at 3 on the foldie and got one of the first loaves out of the oven. The picture is from our snorkel trip last week

Hi Jim and Judy, we have just read all your blog and we are most envious that as we are shivering here in Clacton you bronzed beautiful people are swanning around the bahamas eating wonderful fresh fish. We have got it all WRONG! Love always Ronnie & Kay
