Mrach 1 2008 Marsh Harbor Abacos

ItIt was time for a little exploration. Judy and I set out in the Dinghy for a reef about 4 miles south of here called Witches Point. On board the dinghy is our portable GPS, handheld VHF radio, small anchor, portable depth sounder, spare fuel can, life jackets, and most important of all our glass bottom viewing bucket. Picture is a not good, but by holding the bucket just below the surface you can see incredible detail of what lies below. The wind kicked up and we were not able to do any actual reef viewing but we did try out the "bucket"-nothing more than a black square 5 gallon bucket with the bottom cut out and a piece of Plexiglas glued to the bottom. Saw a marooned trawler on a small island on the way there. Water depth on our trip varied anywhere from 4-10' but you could always see the bottom in the gin clear water. Tomorrow is a very big day in the area, the Barefoot Man is appearing in concert on Guyana Cay, an island about 10 miles from here. We plan to join in the festivities. Tonight is steak night at the Jib Room which is up the road and on the Harbor. Our Time and their daughter Lisa and their grandchildren plus Jess and Cindy from my Cin piled into a taxi van and headed for the Jib Room. Steaks are very thick, cooked just right and a limbo man followed with entertainment. A great end to another day in paradise!
