April 25 Cocoa Fl

The speed signs are prolific along the ICW. In guise they are designed to protect the Manatee but in most cases in reality it is at the whim of the local gov to post the signs. We don't mind the speed limitations as we slow down and enjoy the scenery. In general there are 25 or 30 mph limits in the ICW and then sometimes minimum wake (whatever that means) and some times idle speed only. Also day and night limitations as well as seasonal, so apparently manatees have a biological calendar on board. Quite often our binoculars are used to read manatee speed signs more than they are used to see the markers ahead.

Today was reprovisioning day. Publix (grocery), CVS, & ABC liquors were the stops this morning. In the afternoon, I spent some time running down another of those 140 lb 8D batteries for the boat. As it turns out the Bahamas price for the other one I replaced was not so bad, so I should have replaced both at the time. The dockmaster helped me do the heavy lifting to get the battery in and out of the boat. Judy spent the afternoon putting all the vitals away. A fresh steak on the grill was the meal for tonight
