May 4 Isle Of Hope GA

Again we play the tides and our departure from Walburg Creek anchorage is planned at 7am so we can pass through Hell's Gate, another neglected portion of the ICW that is shallow, unless you pass at mid or higher tide. They call this low Country and it is an appropro description. Mostly marshland grasses, some sand banks near the inlets from the Ocean, and very few trees. As we near Savannah and the Isle of Hope, civilization and people become more apparent along with some nice homes along the Waterway. The Isle of Hope Marina is near Savannah Ga. Arrival time was just after lunch. Very warm so we started the boat AC for the first time in a long time as we borrowed the loaner car to look around this very picturesque suburb of Savannah. One of the streets is pictured. Judy and I had been to Savannah two years ago so we decided to forgo the tour of the downtown area. John and Pat from Gysy Time came over for drinks before dinner. Great Expectations travelled on to Thunderbolt marina. No place to eat nearby so we ate onboard tonight. 4776 sm traveled
