We have been fortunate as we are able to travel on a rising tide each day. We pull anchor at Rock Creek and press on to our next anchorage almost 50 miles away. No problem with several spots where there might be shoaling. We are still in Low Country-aptly named- you can see for miles over the marsh grass and there are very few trees so there isn't much wind protection. Dewees Creek is deep and wide and we find a little protection from the predicted south winds from a few shoreline trees. The current is strong and the wind picks up as we settle in for the night. Again there is a fierce battle between wind and current. Throughout the night the wind howls at 25-30 mph but the anchor never gives up its grip even though the current wins the battle and we swing back and forth with the changing of the tides. Sleep was interrupted several times by my innate alarm clock so I could check our position to make sure we didn't drift on up the Creek.
