May 1- 5 the ICW Northward

Judy Piloting on the ICW

Fishing from the pier on a Sunday afternoon along the ICW

We just learned that John needs to go home to see his Doctor. He has not been feeling well so he has made arrangements to fly home from Jacksonville. After some discussion Judy and I decided we would stay with Gail while he is gone. So we will slowly make our way towards Jacksonville. The weather is great. Upper 70's. We are off to New Symrna Beach. Nice stop. Anchored not far from town and John and I dinghied into town after repairing a electrical connection on his engine that had caused him to shut down one engine after he left the anchorage at the Haulover Canal. The next three nights we spent at anchor. At the Marina Dolphin Research Center, St. Augustine, and Reed Island off of the St. Johns River. This was our third trip to St. Augustine and we have enjoyed it each time. Jacksonville is up the St. John's River some 16 miles from the ICW. Our home for the next two weeks will be the Marina at Ortega Landing. A Condo complex under development but with a very nice Marina and related amenities and at a very reasonable price.
