June 14 Mattawoman Anchorage Potomac River

Sadly it is time to let loose of the dock lines, leave our most convenient DC home, and head back down the River. Not enough time to see everything, but we must press on. This stop has been one of the highlights of our trip. We anchored at Mattawoman Creek on way to Washington and it is a convenient stop some 30 miles down the Potomac. On the way we tried to stop at Mount Vernon, the home of George Washington but there was no dock space available. Docking for pleasure boats is very limited. To our chagrin we had to pass up this stop and it was one that Judy really wanted to see. Storms are predicted but only light rain, some wind, and lightning, kept the evening watchful but thankfully uneventful. Some of the many pictures from DC above
